TSG called for ‘Intentional Grounding’
Duluth, GA - In 2003, when the Arena Football League’s Georgia Force team decided to relocate it’s home games from Philips Arena in downtown Atlanta to the Gwinnett Arena in a neighboring community, it was no small feat. After all, not only did the players, executive offices, team equipment and supplies have to find their way to a new location, but so did the entire football field itself!

With the help of the experienced logistics professionals at TSG, Inc., Lawrenceville, GA, the move was a shining success. The playing surface measuring 198' x 86' required special planning to ensure a well coordinated and safe transition.

Coordinating the appropriate equipment type was critical. TSG was challenged with setting a plan in motion to transfer not only the entire playing surface but also, goal posts, netting, dasher pads, and a specialty racking system to be installed at the new Arena... six truckloads of equipment had to be arranged to arrive in time for installation prior to the start of the new season!

To ensure a smooth transition, TSG had a project manager onsite for the duration of the project. Keeping in mind the loading restrictions, the trucks were staggered to prevent a bottle-neck situation. The playing field, resembling giant rolls of carpet, was secured on flatbed trailers for the move, while 53' vans were used to load the remaining pieces of equipment. Even though moving day was a rainy February day there would be no "rain delay" for TSG. ALL went according to plan and Georgia Force have found their new home to be an awesome location for Arena Football!

Arena officials at both locations appreciated the professionalism and peace of mind that TSG provided by taking command in the difficult assignment. They have continued to look to TSG for other specialized services.
