TSG meets sensitive cargo to Canada challenge

Challenge: A major credit card company needed to transfer part of their computer mainframe equipment to a location in Canada. Located in a third story computer room, the equipment was not packaged and required moving to the shipping dock located on the ground level. The appropriate cross-border documents needed to be completed and a capable carrier was required for the sensitive cargo to be delivered on schedule from Atlanta, GA to their Toronto, ON office. A dependable source was needed.

Solution: TSG provided four pros to wrap, box, strap and safely prepare the equipment for relocation to the shipping dock. Once at the dock, all components were palletized securely for shipment. All necessary paperwork including bill of lading, labels and export documents were completed and made ready for shipping. Export documents were forwarded to the customer’s customs broker at the border and clearance procedures were coordinated to eliminate typical delays.

TSG secured the services of one of their Canadian carriers for the job. The shipment was to be coordinated for pick up after the close of business on a Friday evening. Furthermore, a specialized trailer with air ride suspension, straps and load bars was ordered for the move to ensure safe delivery.

Outcome: The carrier arrived in Toronto the following Monday morning, but the consignee did not have a receiving dock to accommodate the line haul trailer. Arrangements were immediately made to have the load carefully transferred to a smaller delivery unit with a lift gate attachment to complete the delivery.

Customs clearance was accomplished on the same day and shipment was successfully delivered on Tuesday... two days ahead of schedule for the customer.
